About the event

Hanukkah is the commemoration of the historic victory of the Macabbean revolt over the Seleucid Greek empire; it is also the celebration of light near the Winter Solstice. While the most well known part of the Hanukkah story - the miracle of the oil lasting for 8 days - is a very late addition to the narrative of Hanukkah, understanding its deeper meaning provides wisdom for us in navigating an ever-changing world confronted with crises that are political, economic, public health, climate-oriented, and more. How does the wisdom of the Shmitah year inspire us to confront these challenges and how does the story of Hanukkah take on special significance during this Shmitah year? Join Justin in a group-discussion and learning in how to make more meaning out of the upcoming Hanukkah celebration in our lives this year.
